Low self-esteem / self-worth vs. the Light

" People are often described as having low self-esteem, meaning they are filled with doubts and criticisms about themselves and their abilities."

" Research has found that children who inflate their social self-worth those who think that they are more popular than they really are and who thus have unrealistically high self-esteem are also more aggressive than children who do not show such narcissistic tendencies"

" Before I tell you what you can do when you see these warning signs, let me share with you the 7 warning signs of low self esteem: People who have low self esteem are uncomfortable and have trouble accepting praise."

" But people who hate themselves are also hard to love because they, too, are so self-absorbed that their own needs and miseries obstruct their view of another person."

" You become fake because you're covering up your own self-loathing, and you can't really pay attention to your spouse, or your boss, or the friend that you're going out with, since part of you is absorbed in, how do I look?"

" Right now the low self esteem is hurting my relationship and yesterday I was so heartbroken because my partner didn't want to get back together and all I could think was no no I can't live without her and that I knew I had a problem."

Light

"All of us, to some degree, believe in the world’s system of worth and have variations of how we evaluate the worth of others and ourselves. Some of us value position, possessions or money as trophies of our accomplishments. Other people value power, strength or beauty, and still others value moral character. All of these relate to our performance or what we believe will result in the approval of others. The Bible warns us that we will be judged by the same measure that we judge others. (Matthew 7:2)"

"God chooses those who are seen as the weak and foolish in this world to do His work so that He will get the glory. Of course, they are also more open to His direction and know clearly how much they need His help."

" 1 Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence."

" However, the perfect God, Who cannot lie, Who made us and the entire universe, has clearly stated that He made us in His image, that we are very good, that He loves us, that He has chosen us to be on the team that is to rule the universe, that we are His adopted children, that we are joint heirs with His Son Jesus Christ, and that we will sit beside Him on his throne forever."

"Mark it down, self-esteem, self-confidence, personal pride is sin. It is an evidence of corruption. It is the very arrow point of sin. It’s where sin starts, with pride. You can’t re-label it as a virtue, without deceiving everyone."

"One of the popular lies of our culture, if not the dominating popular lie of our culture, and it’s an old one, is that man is basically good and that not only is man good generically, but you as an individual are more than good, you’re great. You’re more than great, you’re wonderful and you need to recognize that because all your power in life resides in your self-esteem and all your influence in life and your ability to achieve great things lies in the power of your self-confidence. And people who fail, and people who struggle are people who lack the power of self-esteem, and the power of self-confidence. Your precious little children from the time they arrive in public school in this country will be taught that…that power resides in them, and goodness resides in them, and greatness resides in them, and achievement is simply a matter of trusting yourself, and loving yourself, and esteeming yourself, and putting confidence in yourself, and not letting anybody diminish that."

" His confession failed, his courage failed, his faith did not fail because it says Peter remembered, verse 72, how Jesus had made the remark to him, Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times, and he began to weep."
